"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." — Lao Tzu
You've probably heard that before.
But what does that actually look like when it comes to walking with God?
It's simpler than we often make it.
And that's where we tend to struggle.
By this point, you've:
• Started turning toward God
• Begun understanding who He is
• Started uncovering who you are
Now comes the part where many people hesitate.
Actually walking it out.
Here's the truth:
There is no perfect moment where you suddenly feel "ready."
There is no point where you'll have everything figured out.
And there is no version of you that God is waiting for before you begin.
You start exactly where you are.
Walking with God doesn't look like having all the answers, never making mistakes, or doing everything perfectly.
It looks like simply choosing to walk with Him in the middle of your real life.
Some days that will look like talking to Him while doing dishes, asking Him what He thinks about something, or noticing where He's moving around you.
Other days it might feel quiet.
Slower.
Less obvious.
But that doesn't mean you've stopped moving.
Growth with God is not linear.
It's relational.
You're not following a formula.
You're building a relationship.
And relationships grow through consistency, honesty, and presence.
So don't overcomplicate it.
Don't wait for clarity on everything.
Don't turn your walk into something you have to solve.
Just take the next step.
And then the next one after that.
Because the goal was never to reach a destination on your own.
The goal is to walk with Him.
Companion Thought:
You do not need to be ready to begin.
You only need to be willing to take the next step.
